Home Sweet Home!

The Crestline Korn's | est. October 2011

After what seemed like the longest process ever, we finally got the keys to our home on October 18, 2011. We've already made it through our first year... holidays, winter storms and some mishaps, but have enjoyed every bit of this place and calling it our home.

We had lots of help from our family, especially from Jonathan's brother Aaron. He helped move, paint and assist (motivate) Jonathan into changing many things so at least we wouldn't live in a huge project for the next 10 years. I still consider this our project as (for years to come as I'm told), but at least I can come home comfortably, kick off my shoes and feel cozy. That's what a home is all about. At first it was hard for us, excited as we were. Jonathan and I both came from living in the same house with our families. We just thought of all the regular things we were going to miss. We learned that some days we will have to stay "Down the Mountain" as the locals say to help save on gas from driving back and forth and we soon got over  our emotions and couldn't wait for the weeks that we go home everyday. It's actually bitter sweet. More sweet then bitter though.

We love our home and we love where it is. We sacrificed the short drives to work, being close to family and friends and having everything available to us, but we just think that up a mountain, up a steep winding road is paradise...our home. Home sweet home!
